Yes, we know that the phrase “a magical day” is overused and trite… but we stand by our use of it when we encounter a truly magical day. And May 15, 2021 was a MAGICAL DAY in every sense. The weather was perfection, the bride and groom were chill, fun, and so in love, and the party was jumping. Put it all together and this wedding will go down in Michelle Vellon Events history.
Kaity and her bridesmaids gathered at the Antrim 1844 – the reception venue – in the morning to get hair and makeup started. Lindsey Fore and the team from Premier Beauty did an amazing job and had all of the girls feeling ready and confident in no time at all. Hamilton Photography was on hand to capture all of the special moments, and they kept snapping away until the party came to a close.
Meanwhile, Kevin and the guys gathered at the Carriage House at the Antrim to get ready for the big day as well. With lots of laughs and time spent relaxing together, it was obvious that this groom wasn’t nervous in the least.
Once she was ready, Kaity shared a special moment with her dad in their own private first look. Afterwards, Hamilton Photography shot some more amazing photos that will forever rank among some of our favorites. Once photos were completed, the bridal party was chauffeured, guys and girls separately, to St. John Catholic Church by the team from Wolf’s Bus Line. Kaity and her dad shared their own car which was provided by On the Town Limousines.
The church was decorated beautifully with florals from Fantastic Flowers, and it was filled with music from the church musicians. Kaity and Kevin exchanged vows during a heartfelt ceremony complete with lots of laughs and sweet moments. Following their first kiss as husband and wife, the ceremony came to a close and the party began.
Cocktail hour took place in the Antrim’s gorgeous Rose Garden, and guests enjoyed the venue’s delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks – including signature cocktails selected to represent Kaity and Kevin’s favorites. Once the wedding party wrapped up photos in the church and mansion, the formal introductions began. Everyone danced in to the musical stylings of DJ Chris Temple of C&J Entertainment.
Once the bride and groom were officially announced as “Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Girten, Jr.,” they shared their first dance to the classic “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. Following a welcome from the father of the groom and a blessing, dinner was served, with toasts by the maid of honor and best man afterwards. Following a cake cutting ( the delicious cake and cupcakes were provided by Blue Crab Cupcakes) and parent dances, DJ Chris officially opened the dance floor and the time flew from there. The party didn’t pause until the bride and groom did a (fake) exit complete with bubbles.
And while many expected this to be the end of a wonderful night, the after party was only beginning. This couple was truly thinking of their guests as the pizza truck from Renzi’s Pizza was on hand to make everyone’s late-night-snack dreams come true.
This was truly a night of amazing memories, laughter, and (somewhat) incredible dancing. We loved getting to share this experience with Kaity and Kevin and will forever count this night among our very favorites. A special thank you to the bride and groom and their families for letting us be a part of such a momentous occasion!
And special thanks to Hamilton Photography for these GORGEOUS images.
