April 25, 2022

From day one of their engagement, Sarah + Chris allowed us to be a part of their wedding and engagement journey. So when their wedding day finally arrived on Saturday, January 15, 2022, we were especially delighted. From riding along on engagement photos to venue site visits to watching them say their “I dos,” this planning process was a joy to experience with Sarah + Chris.

On the morning of the big day, Sarah gathered with her bridesmaids and family to get ready in the Veranda Suite of The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. It was the coldest day of the year, but everyone was warm and excited for the day ahead. The team from The Spa & Salon at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club had everyone looking their wedding-best in no time at all. And while they were putting on finishing touches, the team from Hamilton Photography arrived to capture every beautiful moment.

Meanwhile, the guys spent an incredible morning together as well: enjoying lunch at Big Bats and dressing for the day while Hamilton Photography shot away. Once they were ready, the guys were collected by the transportation team provided by the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and driven over to the ceremony site. As Sarah + Chris opted out of a first look, they didn’t see one another until wedding time.

Back in the Veranda Suite, Sarah put on her wedding dress and shared a sweet first look with her dad. Once everyone had composed themselves afterwards, the girls also moved over to the beach club as ceremony time had nearly arrived. Guests were being seated while DJ Chris Temple of C&J Entertainment provided the prelude music.

The space was beautifully decorated with florals from Fantastic Flowers, and real candles lined the aisle. Father Andrew DeFusco presided over a meaningful ceremony that perfectly fit the newlyweds’ style. Before long, he had officially announced Sarah + Chris as husband and wife, and they exited to the cheers of their family and friends.

From there, the couple was swept outside and photographed in the freezing cold. However, it was definitely worth it as the beautiful sunset photos on the water show. As the photographers captured some frigid moments, the guests were led into the cocktail hour space where they were served delicious cocktails and appetizers.

Once the photos had concluded, guests were asked to find their seats in the reception space and the wedding party was announced by DJ Chris. Everyone danced their way into the party, especially once the newlyweds were introduced as “Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Vellon” for the first time. Afterwards, the couple shared their first dance to “When I Fall in Love” by Michael Buble.

Next, the father of the bride welcomed the guests, a blessing was provided, and dinner was served. While guests enjoyed a delicious meal, the toasts were given – including a reading of the speech by the absent best man who was overseas on military duty.

The cutting of the beautiful (and delicious) cake provided by Sweet Eden Bakeshop came next, followed by the parent dances and an anniversary dance. And from there, the dancing just didn’t stop. Glow sticks were distributed, late night snacks were served to the guests on the dance floor, and everyone kept going right through the three song encore from DJ Chris.

This night was the perfect combination of beautiful and fun – every wedding planner’s dream. We thank both Sarah + Chris for being such a special part of our wedding planning experience and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this couple.
